My Closet Blog

Well hello,

I'm having a closet built by my father. Before each project he is asked to do my father takes it upon himself to tell us he is not a carpenter but he'll try. I told him that I needed the closet before I started my new job so that I could hang all my dress clothes in it and be better organized. This particular project started more than a week ago. I started work on July 3, it is now the 5. My sister also asked for a closet (I went to Wal Mart and bought her a $6.97 little jobby closet that we installed ourselves). As of July 5, all I have is a 2X4 skeletal frame of what should be a closet not to mention the fact that I was almost injured when one of them fell and hit me in the side of my head. I watch in concern and wonder as my father wrestled with the drill to shove 4-5 inch screws into the 2X4's, one time setting down the drill to grab a hammer to wail the stripped screw the rest of the way into the 2X4. The 2X4 later had to be pulled out of the wall because it was uneven, thus leaving a huge hole in the wall now that needs to be repaired. He works for a total of 10-30 minutes, cursing and swearing at given moments. The sound of the hammer hitting the floor followed by a "I've had enough for tonite" tells me that he is stopping the project for the night.

He is supposed to start it again tomorrow night. I will keep you posted on the progress.
